The Voice finalist and former public servant returns to where it all began

Tommy Novak's return to his old school this week was uplifting - as well as a preview of his semi-final-winning performance on The Voice Australia.

It has been 18 years since Novak graduated from Carroll College at Broulee. On Friday, September 18, he returned to his old stomping ground to catch up with many of his former teachers and talk to the students about chasing dreams.

The time since finishing year 12 was brought into stark relief when one of his teachers introduced Novak to her daughter, who she said was the reason she had taken maternity leave during his final year.
