When the Minnesota Vikings head down to Miami to take on the Dolphins, they will be trying to do something they haven’t done since the Bud Grant era: win a football game in Miami.
The Vikings have played the Dolphins 13 times in their history including Super Bowl VIII where the Vikings lost to Don Shula’s Dolphins 24-7.
The next game that the two franchises played against each other was the Vikings’ only win in their five trips to Miami, a 29-7 victory. Their last trip to Miami was an utter disaster with punter Jeff Locke having a punt blocked for a safety at the end of the game to give the Dolphins a 37-35 victory.
Overall, the Vikings sit at 5-8 against the Dolphins all time but they won their last game which was a 41-17 victory in 2018 that saw Kevin Stefanski take over play-calling duties from John DeFillipo. Dalvin Cook had a tremendous day for the Vikings running for 136 yards and two touchdowns with a 7.16 yards per carry average. He will have a lot of fans in the stands as he returns to play in his hometown for the first time as a professional.
