The View abandon sold-out comeback show in Manchester after lead singer PUNCHES bassist onstage

Indie rockers The View abandoned a sold-out comeback gig in Manchester last night after the band had a huge bust up onstage. Footage from the show at The Deaf Institute shows lead singer Kyle Falconer throwing a punch at bass player Kieren Webster as he shouts 'I'll f****** kill you'.

Members of the crew can then be seen trying to separate the bandmates.

Footage of the fight was posted by a gig-goer on Twitter. They wrote: "When you've waited for the comeback gig for years and then halfway through the lead singer batters the bassist! Rock N Roll."

He then followed the video up by explaining the lead singer came back on stage for one more song. Holding an acoustic guitar, Falconer told the audience: "Sorry, if you want Kieren [Webster] can come and finish the set. The problem with this band is that he wants to sing the songs and he can't."

He then walked off the stage and someone joined him to encourage him to stay on but the singer appeared to argue back before storming off. The gig-goer who recorded the clip was immediately hit with questions as one person asked how long they played for, prompting the fan to respond: "Half a set."

Another described the gig as 'pure chaos' and said: "[He] came back, apologised, sang Face for the Radio, apologised again and left."

A third wrote: "They'd just finished Skag Trendy and then Kyle pushed Kieren in the back. He then threw the bass down and started walloping him. All a bit bizarre."

Elsewhere, under the post shared by The Deaf Institute about the show taking place, fans have flooded the comments to discuss refunds.

The View, who had a 2007 hit album Hats Off to the Buskers, reformed in December, playing their first gigs in five years and announced plans for a new album. In a statement the band said: "Unfortunately we are having to postpone tonight's London show.

"Our promoter is working to resolve the situation. Please keep hold of your tickets for now and we will make a further announcement in a few days.

"Massive apologies to all our fans."
