Keeping up with the never-ending slew of video game news is tough — and few had their hands on that pulse like Nibel, the well-known industry insider who regularly updates everyone on Twitter. Sadly on Monday, Nibel announced he’s leaving the platform behind.
“After some introspection, I’ve made the decision to focus my time and energy elsewhere and move on from Twitter,” reads Nibel’s statement. “This marks the end of my video games coverage and my active participation in this platform.”
We can’t link to the actual tweet since Nibel has locked his account, but rest assured – this is the real deal.
Nibel broke many notable news stories, highlighting everything from quiet Metroid Prime 4 updates to Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite Elden Ring boss. GLHF has sourced him in many articles, and we’re legitimately sad to see him go.
Most of the games industry feels the same way. Whether it’s journalists, influencers, or just people looking for breaking news — Nibel left quite an impression on everyone. Just check out the reactions below to see what we mean.
Peers held him in high regard

Nibel was brilliant for providing breaking gaming news, but also a really fun presence on Twitter. Always willing to have a laugh in the replies and get into some occasional mischief. Will miss that way more than the news posts.
Take it easy pal, whatever you get up to now.

sad to see @Nibellion quit Twitter. It's a tough job covering every piece of gaming news 24/7, especially with Twitter looking so volatile right now pic.twitter.com/KWvvQZTLT5

End of an era
We really lost Twitter, Geralt and Nibel all in one week, didn’t we?

The saddest thing about Nibel leaving Twitter is how understandable it is
— Cian Maher (@cianmaher0) October 31, 2022
I think one of the best things about @Nibellion and his news aggregation was that it was never bias’d or focused on any one specific part more than others.
I think that’s why so many people followed him for updates. Many “similar” accounts always seem to play a favorite.

If you’re reading this, Nibel — take care. You’re a legend.
