In today's fickle and fussy digital world, review site Tripadvisor can often be a thorn in the side of even the city's best-known landmarks (just ask Edinburgh Castle).
Restaurants, bars and cafés across the capital have been on the end of a scathing review at one point or another (fairly or unfairly) – and in these modern times, it seems it's now just part of the process.
However, there is one little hidden gem that sits proudly at the top of the site for Edinburgh and incredibly, it has a near-perfect score with just one bad review out of the nearly 450 that have been given to it.

Quinn's Cafe in the Old Town is so well regarded that of that number, nearly 429 were rated as 'excellent'.
It's been so well received on the site, that it currently sits in the number-one spot for places to eat in Edinburgh and earlier this year, even managed to recently place in the top 10 per cent of restaurants worldwide on Tripadvisor.
The unassuming red-fronted café is run by owner Mike Quinn, who is usually on hand to welcome customers before serving up the traditional cafe grub that has been winning it hundreds of five-star reviews.
Earlier this year, Edinburgh Live took the pilgrimage to try the 'best breakfast in Edinburgh' and we were not disappointed.
And we weren't the only ones.
One fan on Tripadvisor wrote: "We had one of the best breakfast experiences in Edinburgh - the staff was very friendly and the food was the best value for what we received."
While another added: "Everything was wonderful, from the warm welcome, the comfy chairs, the range of breakfasts on offer, the food itself and the value for money."
There are five-star reviews in French, Spanish and Russian, and it seems locals love it as much as the tourists.
Many described it as a "hidden gem", and a "must visit" with others regretting they hadn't found it sooner.
In fact, the cafe has only 6 average reviews and one terrible one, with Mike taking time out from his busy day to apologise to them.
In the world of cynical reviews, it's nice to find at least one little café that's thriving in challenging times and seems to be holding to the already incredibly high standards it's set this year.
Quinn's is open seven days a week on the West Port in the city centre from 8am-3pm.
