Tottenham's talented teenagers Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine have both been making their mark for England this week.
Both young Spurs players were called up this month by head coach Ian Foster for the England U19s as they continue their rapid progression through the age groups both at club level and internationally.
Scarlett has been in superb form for his country in the past year or so, scoring eight goals in nine matches for the U19s, including four in four games in the country's UEFA U19 Championship qualification campaign. On Wednesday evening, he opened the scoring in the 3-1 victory against Republic of Ireland with a powerful header into the top left corner of the net from Harvey Vale's cross.

Scarlett and Devine both played 66 minutes before coming off together. The following day Scarlett celebrated his 18th birthday and it marked a good week for the young striker, who earned plenty of praise from Spurs boss Antonio Conte just days before.
"I'm seeing a lot of improvement today in Scarlett honestly I have to tell you," he told football.london. "Seeing that this guy is improving a lot, he's only 17-years-old but I can tell you that he is a really important prospect for Tottenham. He has to be patient and work behind these very important players and continue to work in this way because about Scarlett, I can tell you that I see a brilliant future for him.
Then on Saturday afternoon, with Scarlett taking a turn on the bench, 17-year-old midfielder Devine scored his first goal for the England U19s.
It came just six minutes into the Group B3 qualifier against Armenia at Rotherham's AESSEAL New York Stadium. Liverpool's Jarell Quansah set up Devine to finish emphatically into the right corner of the net. Devine would have had a second goal had it not been for Armenia’s goalkeeper Rafayel Manasyan diving to push away his effort after some promising play from England.
The Spurs man, wearing the number seven shirt, was then involved in his side's third goal as he found substitute Daniel Jebbison in the box and his header back across the face of goal was headed into the net by Quansah.
It was a busy day for Devine, who was taken off on 73 minutes, as England won the game 4-0 with Scarlett unused.
That is likely because both Spurs teenagers are set to feature in Tuesday night's home qualifier against Portugal.
