Ford is bringing the two-tone paint job back to the F-150, reviving a look that was popular on trucks in the 1970s and 1980s. The 2027 model gets a new Custom Two-Tone package through Ford Custom Garage, giving buyers a factory-backed way to add a contrasting lower-body accent without going the aftermarket route.
There is a catch, though: Ford says the package is intentionally limited.
The company is keeping the option limited to a few very specific configurations. The package is available on XLT and Lariat SuperCrew models with the 5.5-foot bed, while other F-150 configurations are left out. Ford says the package is intentionally limited.
Which Trucks Qualify?
Buyers interested in two-tone paint will have to take home the XLT SuperCrew or Lariat SuperCrew with the 5.5-foot bed. The 6.5-foot versions of those trims are excluded.
That also rules out the Tremor and Raptor, while separate trim and package restrictions keep King Ranch, Platinum, and higher-end Lariat configurations from getting the stripe despite using the same basic cab style.
Ford Custom Garage has taken a similar approach with other trucks. The division previously introduced the Bronco’s Desert Rising appearance package and helped create the Super Duty’s Proud To Honor package.
For now, shoppers interested in the retro look will need to confirm both the trim and bed length before ordering. Ford still hasn’t announced pricing or when the Custom Two-Tone package will become available to order.
Ford Goes Retro
The F-150’s new accent stripe runs from the floorline up to the waistline, dividing the body into two visual zones reminiscent of trucks from the 1970s and 1980s. Three accent colors are currently available: Oxford White, Carbonized Gray, and Agate Black.
Ford says each stripe is laser-cut for precision, with the color matched to the truck’s factory finish. Rather than adding a second layer of paint, the two-tone design comes as a graphics kit.
The biggest unanswered question is price. Ford hasn’t disclosed how much the package will cost on top of the 2027 F-150’s base price, and no order-guide pricing has surfaced yet.
