The Trump administration is considering a new round of tariffs on semiconductors despite warnings from tech companies, according to a new report.

Citing people familiar with the matter, Politico detailed on Thursday that one approach could see a large expansion of the products subjected to tariffs. They could target not just chips, but also products made with them like laptops.
