Newcastle United are on a wave of optimism following an unbeaten start to 2022 in the Premier League.
A point against West Ham was another valuable step toward safety although with the Magpies leaving London wondering how they didn’t manage to secure all three, it’s a mark of how far they’ve come under Eddie Howe.

Speaking about Howe, Mulliner said: “I think he was very unlucky that we didn't see that new manager bounce happen [in terms results] because we did in elements of the performances.
"While we didn't have that bounce results-wise, us fans know what we saw and it was complete chalk and cheese to what we had under Steve Bruce.
"The pleasing thing is now the results are coming.
"They could have even been better. At the start of this unbeaten run we drew against Manchester United, we should have won that game.
"We're starting to get what we deserve now, little slices of luck - like Leeds away, it's happening for us whereas before it wasn't, things just weren't clicking.
"We look fitter - so much fitter, we came into this season undercooked.
"For the whole 90 minutes players are working and working, and that is all we ever want to see, players, giving everything for 90 minutes."
