The Traitors star Alex Gray has come out to pronounce the explosive breakfast scene with boyfriend Tom Elderfield as one of the 'worst days' of her life'.
The new BBC game show sees Claudia Winkleman host 22 contestants in a Scottish castle where three competitors are secretly given the role of a 'Traitor'.
Actress Alex and magician Tom were keeping their relationship hidden from their co-stars in an attempt to figure out the identity of the Traitors. During Tuesday night's explosive episode, Tom came clean to the entire group in a scene that sparked chaos as co-stars branded them liars.
In the midst of a lively debate about the Traitor at breakfast, Tom spilled the beans to the entire cast to disperse any suspicions about his girlfriend.
Tom admitted: "Guys straight up, this is a lot. Obviously we've got three people on the line here, I love you all, Alex isn’t a traitor straight up, she's my girlfriend."
It's safe to say the group were stunned at the confession - including Alex herself.
Tom went on: "We came in here as a couple, to try and find Traitors, we tried to come apart separately, hear different stories.
"She is a Faithful 100 per cent, I am Faithful 100 per cent."
Last night Alex logged on to Twitter to proclaim: "Can I just say this was one of the worst days of my life." She later added: "Oh wait no it wasn’t just a dream. That all really did just happen."
Fellow contestant Matt, who had been growing close to Alex in the castle, was especially hurt by the betrayal and burst into tears.
"You both lied to me, to my face. That makes me suspicious of both of you and I’m upset," Matt said.
He told the cameras: "I didn't come in here thinking I was going to find myself a girlfriend or anything like that. It's literally just the fact she's lied to me. I would trust everyone until they cross me. And when they cross me they lose my trust and that's it."
Fans were concerned about the cast, taking to social media to air their worry after the emotional scenes aired.
However, Alex reassured viewers on TikTok, explaining: "They had a psychiatrist pre-filming, during-filming and after filming, the duty of care is really high.
"They also had a massive welfare team, I think there was also one person from welfare per contestant, we've had pretty much daily calls checking on how we are."
She added that the BBC team call to update the cast on what goes on in each episode, as they’re unaware of what will be playing out on screen that night.
"We don't know how it's going to be edited or how the storyline is going to be portrayed, so I actually have a call with the psychiatrist tonight and he’s really lovely," she said.
The Traitors continues on BBC One tonight at 9pm. Catch-up on iPlayer now.
