We have been diving into some of the more highly touted recruits in Ohio State history. We recently discussed the quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, offensive tackles, guards, center, defensive ends, defensive tackles, inside linebackers, outside linebackers, cornerbacks, safeties, recruits listed as athletes, punters, and kickers.
Even though 247Sports‘ recruiting rankings only go back to 2000, there are some memorable names, but Ohio State has only picked up two big names since the start of the site. The lack of top-tier talent at long snapper isn’t all the fault of Ohio State though as highly-ranked long snappers are rare.

Bryce Haynes, Class of 2011
247Sports Composite Rating .7717
It is rare for a long snapper to earn a scholarship, but Bryce Haynes accomplished just that when he committed to Ohio State. Haynes is best remembered for the holding penalty that was committed against him against Penn State.

Liam McCullough, Class of 2015
247Sports Composite Rating .7850
Liam McCullough had as good as a career as you can expect from a long snapper as he snapped in 55 career games while at Ohio State and was a finalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award, which goes to the nation’s best long snapper.
