As the cost of living crisis continues to hit families up and down the country, many people are looking at ways they can save some money.
And in a shocking forecast recently, householders have been warned that average energy bills could pass £5,000 by next April. Worryingly, Consultancy Auxilione said this month that Ofgem could set its price cap at £5,038 per year, the Mirror reports.
But as people look for ways they can keep their spending to a minimum, a lot of people don't realise that they can save money from the comfort of their own homes. Boiler Central experts have worked out the top ten energy-guzzling appliances in the home and how expensive they are to run a month, The Sun reports.

Here are the top ten household devices racking up your energy bills:
Boiler - £78
Unsurprisingly, boilers cost the most to power, costing around £78 a month on average. The Mirror recently reported that lowering the temperature on your boiler can cut yearly energy bills by £67.20 for every 10C cut - with one homeowner saving £151.20.
Washing machine - £14
Boiler Central said a four-person family household pays £14 a month to run their washing machine - £168 a year.
Fridge freezer - £13
If you have a power-hungry D-rated fridge freezer you might be paying £13 a month in energy bills. Even people with the most energy-efficient A-rated devices would need to pay £7 a month.
Dishwasher - £10.30
The humble dishwasher costs UK households £10.30 a month to use. While hand-washing dishes means lower energy costs, it does mean higher water bills.
Kettle - £9.60
Using your kettle for 15 minutes a day adds up to a bill of £9.60 a month.
Oven - £9.36
Ovens cost nearly £10 a month if used every day.
Television - £3.45
Television energy costs are around £3.45 a month. However, turning the devices off at the wall can save you £12 a year - as they can drain power even when plugged in.
Laptop - £1.56
Laptops are not as energy-hungry as many believe, but still make the top ten list of most expensive devices to run. Unplugging your laptop when you are not using it will save you 13p a day, or £4.87 a year.
Microwave - £1.60
Microwaves cost £1.60 a month if used for 10 minutes each day. However, they also drain power when plugged in and on standby - up to £16 a year, in fact.
Mobile phone - 44p
Mobile phones cost roughly 44p every month to charge up. Unplugging phone chargers when you're not using them can mean savings of up to £2 a year.
Work out how much your devices cost you
You can work out how much devices cost you to run - with some easy maths. Firstly, find out the power use of your devices in kilowatts. Then, multiply that by the price of one kilowatt hour, of kWh - this will vary depending on your energy deal. Next, multiply that by the time you would run the appliance.
