The sum Celtic could pocket from Jeremie Frimpong's Man Utd transfer

Celtic look set to earn a tidy windfall from Jeremie Frimpong's next move in football.

Yesterday it emerged that the right-back could be heading to global giants Manchester United this summer.

The Dutch international left the Parkhead club in the January of 2021, just 18 months after joining for £350,000 from Man City.

The Hoops made a massive profit on the infectious full-back as he departed for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga for a fee of around £11.5million.

He's certainly gone on to realise his potential and has shown why Leverkusen forked out so much money for him.

This season, working under Xabi Alonso, Frimpong has eight goals and nine assists to his name.

While Celtic have already turned over a sizable profit on the 22-year-old, it would appear the player could be set to deliver more cash to the Scottish champions.

Widespread reports at the time of Frimpong's move to Leverkusen claimed that the Hoops had inserted a sell-on clause, believed to be worth 30 percent of the profit of his next sale.

It's been said in reports south of the border that Erik Ten Hag's side will need to pay at least £30million upfront to land the Dutchman, with potential add-ons required too.

So, if those reports are to be believed, Celtic could be set rake in at least £5,550,000 - which is 30 percent of the £18.5million profit Leverkusen would make.
