For basketball lovers, the NBA Draft has always been one of the most highly anticipated times of the year. Except for this year when the women of the WNBA Draft stole the show. The 2024 National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) women's final garnered higher viewership than the men's game — and not just for the on-court action, but the serious fashion glamour the women of basketball now generate. In a match made in fashion and sports heaven, the stars of the WNBA rocked the red carpet in sexy one-shoulder dresses, red power suits and a statement-making glittering hooded gown. Move over Beyoncé, Rihanna and Zendaya, there's a new breed of fashion influencers in town.

As if Angel Reese wearing Diesel and Valentino on Vogue's April 2024 issue wasn't already an indicator, fashion and women's basketball are a red-hot combination. For the draft, college prospects showed they have the fashion muscle to rival any celebrity or style star. Just look at Reese, who was picked by the Chicago Sky. Styled by fashion editor Naomi Elizee, the young player stunned in a sultry, shimmery hooded gown by New York Fashion Week mainstay Bronx and Banco, which she paired with silver Christian Louboutin heels and a matching clutch by Simon Miller. It was the neckline that plunged all the way down to her stomach and showed off her toned back that captured everyone's attention. "I remember thinking.... she can beat me but she cannot beat my outfit," Reese wrote in an Instagram post.

The outfits worn by other rising stars were just as powerful. As the number one pick selected by the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark sizzled on the red carpet in a white Prada skirt set with a patent handbag. Kamilla Cardoso and Rickea Jackson took the sophisticated approach in power suits with Cardoso's red plunging suit sourced from 831MINHLE. Meanwhile, Cameron Brink took things up a notch in a black-and-white one-shoulder Balmain dress featuring a hip cut-out and a thigh-baring slit showing off her killer legs. Slay.
