Wuchang: Fallen Feathers came out in 2025 and, being a Soulslike with a good-looking female lead, immediately made a bit of a splash. However, it wasn’t that great of a game, though it did have some qualities, and its ensuing controversies didn’t help raise the bar whatsoever.
Less than a year after it was released, its lead, Xia Siyuan, was “expelled” from the studio according to Chinese outlets (machine translated), with the rest of the development team “unwilling” to resort to outsourcing to continue making games. As a result, Leenzee was supposedly disbanded altogether, even though the game kept gaining new fans and recently celebrated five million total players.
Now, publisher 505 Games, which now owns the Wuchang IP, announced via social media that the “story is far from over” for Wuchang, and that a sequel is officially in the works, directed by Xia Siyuan and, apparently, some of his old team.
