A statement headboard is a hallmark of any boutique hotel — whether upholstered in a luxurious fabric or characterised by a distinctive shape — while oversized designs have been taking the interiors world by storm of late. From touching the ceiling and spanning entire walls to featuring bold prints, look-at-me headboards are being used as architectural accents that add character, flair and comfort to spaces.
“Bedrooms are becoming more expressive and statement headboards have real presence by framing the space, grounding the scheme and bringing a sense of intention,” explains Karl Openshaw, creative director at BAYA Interiors, the design studio that’s becoming known for its bespoke and creative headboards.
