The third day of the NFL draft is often jam-packed with trades. The 2023 edition of the final four rounds kicked off with a trade before anyone was even on the clock.
The New Orleans Saints packaged together two picks and sent them to the Chicago Bears for the privilege of making the first pick on Saturday. Chicago acquired No. 115 and No. 165 overall in exchange for the No. 103 pick, the first of the fourth round.
With the pick, the Saints drafted Old Dominion OL Nick Saldiveri.
It’s very common for teams to maneuver around in the final rounds to target specific players. The Saints didn’t waste any time in getting their man in Saldiveri, who can play guard or tackle.
