The Denver Broncos have the worst starting quarterback in the league going into the 2024 NFL season, at least according to rankings from The Ringer’s Steven Ruiz.
Bo Nix is listed at No. 32 in The Ringer’s annual quarterback rankings, a harsh grade for the first-round pick set to make his regular-season debut against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
“When I watched Bo Nix at Oregon, I didn’t see the strong-armed, unflappable passer that [Sean] Payton says he did,” Ruiz wrote. “Nix had an OK arm, one capable of making most throws, but he didn’t test it out often in Oregon’s run-pass-option-heavy offense.”
Elsewhere in the AFC West, Patrick Mahomes is ranked No. 1, Justin Herbert is ranked No. 4 and Gardner Minshew is ranked No. 31.
It’s understandable that Nix still has to prove himself as a rookie, but Caleb Williams is ranked No. 20 and Jayden Daniels is ranked No. 28. Ranking Nix dead last seems a bit harsh. If the QB needed any extra motivation going into his rookie season, Ruiz has provided it.
