Most of us love the food we eat, but sometimes all we crave is something from our childhood that brings us comfort and warmth.
I recently wrote an article about food from the '80s & '90s that stirred nostalgic memories for me.
In response, many of you commented on the kinds of snacks and sweets that you would love to see make a comeback in one way or another.

Below are some of your comments about the foods you remember - many of these came up quite a few times so must have been very popular back in the day!
Sweet Cigarettes
Training smokes for kids. There were the white candy ones, but they weren’t as good as the chocolate ones, covered in rice paper. They even came in American-style cigarette packs. Eventually – and many would say rightly – they were phased out, but they did taste nice.
One of our readers said: "We also had sweet cigarettes in their own packets, chocolate cigars, pouches of desiccated coconut rolling tobacco and Liquorice smoking pipes; strangely I haven't seen those around for a while?"
Coconut Chips
Coconut chips were pieces of coconut dyed pink and white. Pumped full of sugar for added tooth-destroying tastiness.
Toast Toppers
Heinz's Toast Toppers were everywhere back in the '70s and '80s and were much loved by children and students alike.
Designed to be spread on bread and then grilled until it starts to bubble, the snack was a filling tasty treat that made normal boring toast something special.
However, in 2015, Heinz discontinued the range much to the public's dismay.
Toffo
Mackintosh's Toffo was a toffee sweet with some out-there flavours such as banana (seriously, did anyone actually like the banana one?), along with the more mainstream flavours like mint and toffee.
People loved them and Nestle has actually brought them back as the chewy toffee caramel sweets we all loved as children, although only in Dubai.
Bone Shakers
Bone-shaped chalky candy pieces that came in a plastic coffin. The sweets didn’t taste of much, but the coffins were ace.
Aztec
The Aztec was Cadbury's attempt to compete with Mars but was sadly axed in 1978 after 11 years. While being one of the older snacks, many people remember the rather long advert more than the actual chocolate bar itself.
Secret
The Secret bar was a firm favourite of yours, with many people reminiscing about how much they loved the chocolate nest along with the mousse filling, which was clearly a winner.
However, the bar was discontinued in the late '90s due to production costs. The bar is consistently one that appears on many much-loved long gone sweets lists and is also the subject of online petitions hoping to bring it back into production.
Snow Flake
Cadbury's white chocolate version of their own flake was a hit when it was released in 2000. However, by 2003, it was rebranded as Flake Snow. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough and the bar was axed in 2008.
Has this made you hungry for your favourite childhood snack, if so we would love to hear about them in our comments below.
