The Real Forno Show: Should the Vikings fire Kevin O’Connell?

The Minnesota Vikings jumped out to a 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals but couldn’t put them away in a 27-24 loss in overtime.

There were many reasons why the Vikings couldn’t quite pull out the victory but execution is arguably the biggest one. Quarterback Nick Mullens threw two interceptions and had a third called back paired with two failed tush push attempts that caused a turnover on downs, and eventually cost the game.

The blame is being placed solely on head coach Kevin O’Connell with some calling for his job. In reality, O’Connell is a good head coach with the Vikings utilizing good process.

  • Execution is bad, the process is good
  • Understanding the playcalling
  • How O’Connell has grown with a 20-11 record
  • Parsing out the issues with backup quarterbacks

We are here to break it all down and more on the latest episode of The Real Forno Show, airing Monday and Wednesday nights at 6 pm central on the Vikings 1st & SKOL YouTube channel.
