Welcome to Raw Politics.
Newsroom today launches our new, election year weekly video podcast, with Tim Murphy, Jo Moir and Sam Sachdeva.
Every Friday, near the end of the political week, the three will dissect the big issues and put politicians’ performances under the microscope in a lively 25-minute show aiming to take viewers and listeners inside the beltway.
Raw Politics will answer audience questions and the panelists will recommend high impact political reading, listening and viewing for your weekend.
This week the team dissects Stuart Nash's demise and asks if there was a cover-up, looks forward to Jacinda Ardern's valedictory and offers some lines on how she might be remembered, and asks if Marama Davidson's ticking off by the PM was punishment enough.
Murphy is Newsroom’s co-editor, a former member of the Parliamentary press gallery and editor-in-chief of the NZ Herald, Moir is Newsroom’s political editor, having been in the gallery for eight years also with Stuff and RNZ, and Sachdeva is our national affairs editor, former political editor and was a Stuff political writer.
Raw Politics aims to be insightful, entertaining and unafraid to call out success and failure.
Watch Raw Politics every week on YouTube, or download or listen to it as a podcast on Spotify Apple Podcasts or via Spreaker.
And send us your burning political questions to jo.moir@newsroom.co.nz and we’ll endeavour to find out the answer and explain the issues.
