The Range shoppers spot 'rude' detail on Christmas display that is 'wrong in so many ways'

It depends how your mind works but The Range shoppers think they have spotted a 'rude' detail on one of the store's Christmas decorations. The retailer soon got in on the joke.

The store display, an inflatable Santa which stood 2m high, first got shoppers talking. So far so good, but then customers noticed the the giant Santa was accompanied by a Christmas tree and a cute little dog that was jumping on Santa's back. This is where the confusion began.

The firm took to Instagram to share the observation and explanation on its official page. It wrote: "There’s a little BITe of confusion surrounding this product and whether the is dog biting Santas b*m or something a little more d̶o̶g̶g̶y̶. Sorry, dogdy!!" Continuing: "We can confirm that the dog is in fact chasing Santa- make of that what you will" Seeing the funny side, The Range added: "Tag your friends below for a giggle!"

First to spot the post was Nottinghamshire Live's sister publication Liverpool Echo, which said that "Unsuspecting customers have been taken aback by one aspect of the inflatable Santa display item."

Instagram users were quick to comment on the post. "I don’t think I’ll be purchasing to display next to my 81 year old neighbour's house," wrote one follower. "That is wrong in so many ways," said another. A third added: "We saw this in store yesterday……we laughed out loud!! I think they’ll rethink the design for next year."

Comments continued: "It is a little Erm….. " and "Think Father Christmas’ expression says it all!" While another person, tagging in a friend, said: "What do you think your new neighbours will make of this!"

In the clip shared on Instagram, a woman can be heard giggling and snorting. One person said: "This is what I saw with you Friday and was stunned!!" Another suggested: "That's your Christmas present sorted", and another added: "Did we not do the very same thing??"

The video has racked up thousands of views and comments. It was posted on Monday. And if you want the product itself, the inflatable Santa is on sale for £79.99.
