The Raiders’ offense is getting Uber close at camp. Blame Hunter Renfrow

Entering the 2022 NFL season, the Raiders are about to have what we’d call a “good problem.”

After trading for superstar wideout Davante Adams in the offseason, one could make a case that with Adams, Darren Waller (despite nonexistent trade rumors), and Hunter Renfrow — Las Vegas might have one of the NFL’s elite receiving corps. Unfortunately, there’s only one ball for Derek Carr to throw around and new head coach Josh McDaniels to scheme with.

But that’s a football problem for the fall. On a team outing to Top Golf — featuring Mack Hollins, Carr, Adams, and Renfrow — some of the Raiders’ more prominent stars already had trouble fitting together. In an Uber.

Because, much to the chagrin of Adams, the less-wealthy Renfrow apparently didn’t want to spring for a bigger car:

Hey, I mean, we’ve all been on both sides of this dilemma.

In Adams’ case, a standard four-door sedan is definitely uncomfortable for four grown men. In Renfrow’s case: You’re trying to save money, and those XL cars are pricey! Especially in Vegas. Yes, Renfrow is a millionaire, but he doesn’t have a deal like Adams and Carr, upwards of $100 million. You’ve gotta penny-pinch when you can. That’s just being smart.

For what it’s worth, the Raiders have +650 odds (the worst position) to win the loaded AFC West with Tipico Sportsbook. So, it’s not as if oddsmakers expect this group to fit much better on the football field, outside of a ride share.

A word of advice to Vegas: Maybe let the incomparable Adams lead the way in Uber ordering and on the field.
