The Queen 'thoroughly enjoyed' Wii Sports - and has banned one of her children from playing Monopoly

With Jubilee celebrations just around the corner, people up and down the country will be commemorating the Queen's 70th year on the throne with street parties, family time and fun with friends. While the Royal Family will be thoroughly kept on their toes with the various celebrations happening across the weekend, those celebrating Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee will be brainstorming ideas on how to celebrate.

If you are looking for ways to celebrate The Queen's lengthy reign, and the highly-anticipated Bank Holiday Weekend, then it may inspire you to know that Her Majesty does enjoy playing board games, and has her favourites. Although she certainly will not have the time in the coming weeks to sit down, let alone play board games, Her Majesty loves to play games with her family during festive celebrations, according to SudokuCraze.

It has been widely reported that Her Majesty is incredibly fond of 'The Name Game', which involves players writing the names of famous people and characters on a post-it note to pop on another player's forehead. Through asking a series of 'yes' or 'no' questions, players must then guess the name that is written on the post-it note stuck to their head.

The Name Game is said to be an incredibly popular game amongst members of The Royal Family when the whole family comes together during important holidays. But Her Majesty does not limit herself to board games, and has been known to try her hand at some console games, thanks to the younger members of her family.

In 2008, a report by Wired revealed that The Queen is fond of a spot of bowling on Wii Sports, after Kate Middleton gifted Prince William a Wii console one Christmas. The Queen tried ten-pin bowling on the console, and is said to have thoroughly enjoyed it, which is quite a funny thought.

When it comes to the Cambridges' go-to games, Prince William revealed in an interview with Radio Marsden, the station for the Royal Marsden Hospitals in London, that there are two popular board games the family enjoy - Monopoly and Risk. He said that the two games are staples during the festive season, but they're games that 'usually everyone gets cross about because they lose'.

The Duke of Cambridge also told the radio station that he and Kate and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, let the games go 'on for hours'. The Cambridge children are not the only members of the Royal Family that enjoy a spot of Monopoly.

Interestingly, The Queen has previously banned Prince Andrew from playing the popular game in her presence. During a 2008 royal visit, Prince Andrew stated that the arguments during the game get 'too vicious'.

In a trip earlier this year to the BAFTA headquarters, Prince William revealed that his three children all 'definitely like gaming, they're fascinated by that'. The Duke of Cambridge also said that Prince George in particular is a huge fan of video games, so much so that he and Kate are trying to 'regulate the gaming' and monitor the amount of screen time that their eldest son is allowed.

Prince George's uncle, Prince Harry, is more of a polo fan than a gaming fan; the youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana has a famous love for the sport, which stems from his father's affinity for it. The Duke of Sussex is set to play for the Los Padres polo team in a tournament running from June 3 to June 19, sparking speculation that he may be missing some Jubilee celebrations.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is said to be highly skilled at Charades due to her acting skills. According to reports, ahead of Meghan's first Christmas as a royal, Prince Harry had to ask Meghan to 'tone down' her Charades skills so that she wouldn't overshadow his grandmother.
