What is the event timeline?

Kicking off on Thursday, there are a few key events to take note of. Trooping the Colour is a parade in honour of the Queen's birthday, consisting of over 1,2000 officers and soldiers displaying military pageantry. It will be the first time the parade has marched since 2019 due to covid restrictions. It departs from Buckingham Palace at 10am.

The royal family will gather on the Buckingham Palace balcony sometime between the Trooping of Colour and the RAF flyover. An exact slot for their appearance has not been set but is expected to be between 10:00am and 1:00pm.

At 9.25pm, members of the royal family will arrive to watch the lighting of the principal beacon at the palace. An estimated 3,000 beacons are being lit across the United Kingdom and Commonwealth to celebrate.

Friday will see the royals meet at St Paul's Cathedral for a service of thanksgiving at 11am. After noon, the Lord Mayor will host a guildhall reception for the royal family scheduled for 12:25pm.

The Epsom Derby will take place Saturday, June 2nd, with the entire royal family expected to be in attendance. This includes Harry and Meghan who are no longer working royals. The show kicks off a 5:30pm.

That night, a star-studded open-air concert is set to take place outside the palace. Kicking off at 8pm, viewers and bystanders can expect performances from Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Queen + Adam Lambert and Duran Duran.

Sunday is set to be a national party as the public is urged to take part in their own Big Jubilee Lunches. From 2:30pm - 5:30pm, The Jubilee Pageant will take place with a 3km carnival in central London. Closing the event will be Ed Sheeran with a live performance of the national anthem in front of the Queen’s official residence.

Where can I watch it?

If you are not lucky enough to catch the festivities live in person, the BBC and ITV will be airing the events on their retrospective channels and streaming services. Viewers can watch online via BBCiPlayer or ITVHub.
