The Queen's Death: What is happening and when in the days ahead

King Charles III has been formally declared as the new monarch following the death of his mother, the Queen, on Thursday at the age of 96.

Her funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19 at 11am, it has been confirmed.

Before that, The Queen will lie in state for “four clear days” in Westminster Hall, arriving there on Wednesday September 14 until 6.30am on the morning of her funeral.
