The Queen died from a broken heart after Prince Philip died, royal experts have said.
Insiders have claimed Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was "never the same" after the Duke of Edinburgh died in April last year.
Author of The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown, Katie Nicholl, said Phillip was the Queen's "strength and stay".
Speaking on Entertainment Tonight, she said: "She was never the same after Philip went... He was, she said, her strength and stay. He supported her in everything she did in life.
"I think it's fair to say that she wouldn't be the queen she was without the support of Philip."
It was revealed this week how a slab was placed in the Queen's final resting place reuniting her with her parents and husband following a ceremony at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, part of St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, on Monday, the MailOnline reports.
Previously, an inscribed slab on the floor had been marked with the Queen's parents, but now a new one has been installed with the names of Her Majesty and her husband, Buckingham Palace have confirmed.
It reads: "George VI 1895-1952, Elizabeth 1900-2002, Elizabeth II 1926-2022, Philip 1921-2021."
It can be viewed through gates inside the metal gate inside St George's Chapel and also has the ashes of the Queen's sister Margaret.
The public will be able to view the Queen’s final resting place in the future, but at a cost.
The chapel is set to reopen to the public next Thursday and adults can expect to pay around £28.50 for entry, with children being charged £15.50 for the site which will be open from Thursday through to Monday.
Money raised from admissions is used for the upkeep of the Royal Collection, one of the largest art collections in the world.
In her new book Katie Nicholl's claimed the Queen was "hurt and exhausted" by Prince Harry and Meghan's decision to step down from the Royal Family and move to America.
She claims a source close the Queen didn't like to think about the series of events, with a source telling the author:
"[The Queen] was very hurt and told me: "I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore".'
They added it was of more regret to Her late Majesty that the Sussexes' move meant she did not have the opportunity to see as much of Archie and Lilibet as she'd have liked.
