A popular Newcastle bar and restaurant is set to undergo a £350,000 revamp that will transform the venue into what is being billed as the city's first 'show bar'.
The Purple Peacock, located at 55 Degrees North in the city centre, will undergo the major facelift as owners, The One Collection Group, look to "shake up Newcastle's nightlife scene" with a "brand new concept."
The revamped venue is set to open in May featuring a stylish twenties-style interior and an impressive range of lighting. Diners can expect to sit back and relax with small plates as they are entertained by a show.

The first performance to take place at the venue when it reopens will be The Greatest Show, with further shows to be announced soon.
The One Collection Group said: "Focusing on extravagant and awe-inspiring shows – starting with a captivating performance of The Greatest Show, you’ll be able to enjoy an opulent and refined food menu consisting of delicious small plates whilst you enjoy the all-action entertainment going on around you."
The revamped venue will open three days a week with a dedicated Friday show evening, late-night Saturday party until 1am, and a unique relaxed Sunday entertainment schedule. A full calendar of events has already been planned for the remainder of the year.

Details for their calendar of shows and events will be released in the coming weeks with keen party-goers urged to register for updates to be first by visiting: www.purplepeacockncl.com
