The positive Sam Allardyce will take as Leeds United look to gain edge on relegation rivals

Mark Schwarzer has claimed that Leeds United's run-in is no worse than their relegation rivals after he insisted that Sam Allardyce will "shake up" the Whites for their final four matches this term.

Manchester City, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are the four fixtures that Allardyce will take charge of during his time as interim head coach. Javi Gracia's departure has left the 68-year-old with the club out of the relegation zone on goal difference alone.

Despite the difficult nature of Leeds' remaining games, Schwarzer believes that the club are in no worse a position than those around them at the foot of the table.

"I think also what's key in this is when you look at the four teams are involved in this relegation flight if we if we're saying it's Everton, Leicester, Forest and Leeds - two of those teams are going to go down - they've got similar or as difficult fixtures," he told BBC's Football Daily.

"Two out of the four are really, really tough ones that you probably think they're not going to get a result in and then the other two are games that they possibly could. So as bad and bleak as it might look on paper for Leeds United [in terms of] who they're playing in their remaining four fixtures, I think all the all the teams in that area have really, really difficult run-ins.

"So it is about trying to find something extra, something special, someone with a know-how and the experience and Sam certainly has that. So Leeds want to give themselves the best possible opportunity to do that. He'll go in there and shake them up."
