The Pogues star Darryl Hunt has died aged 72.
The sad news was confirmed by the band on Tuesday as they paid tribute to Darryl who passed away on Monday in London.
The band announced the news on their official Instagram account along with a black and white photo of the bass player.

In their post, the band - who are best known for their Christmas hit Fairytale of New York- said: "We are saddened beyond words. Our Darryl passed away yesterday afternoon in London.
"Darryl Gatwick Hunt 04/05/1950 - 08/08/2022".
The touching message ended with a poignant quote of the band's lyrics from their hit Love You 'Till the End as it read: "I know you want to hear me catch my breath I love you till the end'."
The band later shared a link to their song Love You 'Till The End, which was written by the bassist.
Later, the group also shared a link to a song from Darryl's previous band Plummet Airlines on Twitter and wrote: "Darryl's pub rock band Plummet Airlines - This Is The World, a very early Stiff Records release".
The musician and songwriter was born in Hampshire, England on May 4 1950. Before he began playing bass in The Pogues in 1986, he was a part of the pub rock band Plummet Airlines and The Favourites.
He was involved in the Celtic-inspired band's subsequent work including their 1988 album If I Should Fall From Grace With God which featured the Christmas hit Fairytale Of New York. The band consisted of frontman Shane MacGowan, Jem Finer, James Fearnley, Andrew Ranken, Terry Woods, Hunt and other musicians throughout the years.
Darryl featured in their material until their last album, Pogue Mahone, in 1996. He has writing credits on a number of their songs including Love You Til the End.
Bandmate Spider Stacy paid tribute to Hunt on Twitter, writing: "This is wretched. See you around the way, Daz. 'It's in the fridge' #TrickyTrees". Meanwhile, fans have reacted with sadness to the news on Twitter and paid tribute.
One wrote: "Such sad news. Love You Till The End is up there with the best Pogues songs, and Darryl gave the band so much. My condolences to his friends and family. x" "My condolences to Darryl's family and friends. May he rest in peace. I thought Darryl was a class act on stage and off it. I'll always be grateful to him for being part of so many wonderful memories and the soundtrack to my life," a second added.
