The plight of African students stuck in Ukraine: 'We really need to go home'

As Russia opens humanitarian corridors from several Ukrainian main cities, hundreds of African and Indian students trapped in the eastern city of Sumy hope that they will finally escape the last 12 days of hell. Nigerian medicine student, Precious Olawale, described her traumatic experience to RFI.

“We really, really need to go home. We wake up to the sounds of bombs. More than five bombs went off on Saturday as early as 5 am. All of us are just sick and tired. People are crying, some have had panic attacks,” 21-year-old Precious Olawale told RFI.
