The perfect cat eye to on-trend bleached brows: Nicola Peltz’s scroll-stopping looks

The model and actress is renowned for her perfect cat eye

With a billionaire father, a starring role in blockbuster film Transformers 4, and the Beckhams as in-laws, Nicola Petlz has all the hallmarks of a Hollywood IT girl.

And of course, no IT girl is complete without an arsenal of scroll-stopping glam looks. A fan of the natural, no make-up make-up look , Peltz is perhaps best known for her flickey cat eyeliner and radiant, dewy skin. In other words, rich girl skin (read our full guide if you’re on a budget here).

Still, that hasn’t stopped the 27-year-old model and actress from successfully experimenting with more outlandish beauty trends, such as 2021’s viral bleached brow trend.

From the Met Gala to her Gen Z ceremony of the century, we chart Peltz’s defining glam moments.

Her 90s bridal look

At her $3 million wedding to Brooklyn Beckham, there was one thing on everyone’s mind: that dreamy half-up half-down hair-do.

The work of celebrity hairstylist Adir Bergel, who counts Kristen Stewart  Reece Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway as clients, the two met while on the Transformers tour in 2014. “She’s like my little sister – she annoys me all the time, but she’s also the best,” Abergel told Vogue. “She’s been sending me all of these rad images of early Claudia Schiffer – including pictures of her with bangs – so they inspired us, plus the dress, which is just beautiful.” As well as bleaching her hair lighter and brighter ahead of her big day, Bergel also used a Virtue Restorative Mask (£65) and smoothing formulas for the Bridgette Bardot-inspired blow-out.

As for the makeup, Chanel MUA Kate Lee enhanced the star’s naturally fresh complexion with  Chanel’s Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Pearlescent to accentuate her cheekbones. “We decided on a very fresh, natural look – barely-there but with a few interesting details that will pop under the veil,” she told Vogue. “The intention was to accentuate her natural features, while adding a few modern, not-so-traditional details.”

Her perfect cat eye

Peltz is hardly seen without her trademark sleek cat eyeliner. Her most notable iteration however was the one she sported at the 2021 Met Gala. Accompanied by Beckham, Peltz matched her magenta Valentino gown and blush leather gloves with a sharp, elongated look.

According to the billionaire heiress’ Vogue’s Beauty Secrets YouTube tutorial, her go-to product to achieve her famous cat eye is MAC’s Pro Longwear Fluidline (£17.50) applied with a diminutive pointed brush. She then tidies the resulting kittenish flick with a touch of Bioderma Cleansing Water (£16.10) for a flawless finish.

Lee, who also worked with Peltz for this Met Gala look, also mentioned that she uses Caligraphie de CHANEL Longwear Intense Cream Eyeliner (£27) applied with CHANEL Angled Eyeliner Brush n°205 (£24) whenever the two collaborate.

Her on-trend bleached brows

Last October, Peltz was one of a bevy of beauties who partook in the viral bleached brow trend – quick recap here for the uninitiated. Having been first made popular in the nineties thanks to OG supermodel Linda Evangelista and New York club’s kids, the trend continued throughout the early 2000s, when Chloë Sevigny and Gwen Stefani wore the look.

Now thanks to the likes of  Lizzo to Kim Kardashian, Madonna, Katy Perry and, of course, Peltz, the ethereal look is back on our feeds. Here, Peltz has paired it with a clean make-up look, as well as a grungier, punk aesthetic that she shot for CR Fashion Book.

Celebrity makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin, who famously bleached the brows of Evangelista and Kate Moss, wrote of the trend in his 1997 book Making Faces: “A great way to change the look of the face, also by altering the brow, is to bleach them. A bleached brow will soften the expression, as opposed to dyeing them a darker color, which can make them look stronger.”

He added: “If you feel your brows are too low or too close to the eyes, bleaching them can open up the face.”

Her glowy skin

As well as her signature perfect cateye, Peltz’s Vogue Beauty Secrets also divulged how the actress achieves such flawless, glowy skin.

She diplomatically name-dropped mother-in-law Victoria Beckham’s beauty line, shouting out her Augustinus Bader Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer – which Brooklyn is apparently a fan of, too.

“Brooklyn—guys are so annoying, they have, like, perfect skin; they don’t have to do anything to their skin. But he does use this,” Peltz says, adding that the formula is so hydrating and pretty that she reapplies (though sparingly) post-makeup as well.

After exfoliating and masking lips, a layer of EltaMD UV Daily Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 is followed with a touch of foundation for an immaculate look, that ethos echoed by Peltz’s perfected cat-eye.

She also shared her mother’s number one skincare tip: “Stay out of the sun. Avoid the sun at all costs.” As well as mother-in-law Victoria Beckham’s perfect skin secret: “She eats so healthy, and she drinks a lot of water. And I think her skin just is naturally, like, she’s just naturally perfect.”
