'The only things that haven’t risen with inflation are wages and benefits'

As we approach the end of summer, I feel we have more to face than the worsening weather.

I wonder how the Government expects people to keep putting money into the economy when just existing will be a feat.

No wonder people are vowing to cut back on day trips and leisure activities. The cost of everything is rocketing with energy, food, mortgages all up.

There are shortages in the supermarkets and water is at a premium with hosepipe bans imminent. The only things that haven’t risen in line with inflation are wages, pensions and benefits.

I wonder how many MPs will be cutting back on their activities as many of us will have to do?

- Jacquelyn Allsop, Lowestoft, Suffolk
