Alex Jones has shared a health update with The One Show viewers. The Welsh presenter explained she was "better" than she had been as she opened the programme on Monday, July 4 with a croaky voice and asked viewers for remedies.

As the first show of the week kicked off Alex's co-host Jermaine Jenas explained the 45-year-old was "powering through" as he pointed out her voice was sounding "a little bit ropey".

Introducing viewers to The One Show, which is airing on BBC Two due to Wimbledon, Alex said: "Well hello and welcome to your Monday One Show live on BBC Two and iPlayer, with Jermaine Jenas..."

"And Alex Jones! " Jermaine continued, adding: "Erm, sounding a little bit ropey there Al, you okay? Your voice is a bit..."

"Better than I was," Alex replied. "But you know, sponsored by pineapple juice."

The mum-of-three explained she was finding the sore throat "frustrating" as she asked viewers for help. "Any home remedies, send them in, it's the most frustrating thing!" Alex said.

Jermaine added: "It is, come on, she's pushing through, people. Help her out, send her in your remedies."

Later in the show Alex and Jermaine interviewed Thor: Love and Thunder stars Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson as Alex explained: "I don't normally speak like this ladies - you won't know that!"

She added: "I've got a hoarse voice, I think I've got a bit of laryngitis, but I feel fine! Anyway, thank you."
