Paul Lambert believes Celtic have the advantage over Rangers in the striker department.

The former Celtic midfielder has been impressed by Kasper Hogh's promising start at the club, following his summer transfer from Bodo/Glimt. The Danish forward has quickly demonstrated his ability to lead the line for the champions.

Hogh made a significant impact with a hat-trick against Kilmarnock, and has already developed an understanding with his attacking teammates. Speaking to BOYLE Sports, who offer the latest football odds, Lambert said: "Kasper Hogh, I'd seen him a few times with Bodo/Glimt and I thought he was definitely a handful.

"He's started the season pretty well, getting his hat-trick against Kilmarnock; he's started his Celtic career really well."

The ex-Hoops midfielder believes Hogh's familiarity with the role and growing chemistry with his teammates could make him a key player this season. He added: "Kasper Hogh knows it, and he leads the line well.

"He seems to have a good relationship with everybody there, including the crowd, with his team-mates, and the two wide lads, Duran and Yang.

"So yeah, I think he could be a real handful."

Meanwhile, Rangers face a different challenge following Lawrence Shankland's injury, which is expected to keep the striker sidelined for several months. This places added focus on summer signing Kevin Kelsy, who could be handed a prominent role in Derek McInnes' attack.

However, Lambert admits it is too early to know whether the Venezuelan can make the same impact as Hogh has managed at Celtic. He said: "Lawrence Shankland knows the Scottish game, but he's struggled a little bit since his move to Rangers.

"Okay, he got a couple of goals, but now his injury is going to keep him out for a long period. It remains to be seen how Kevin Kelsy adapts.

"I don't think many people know much about him, so that'll be interesting to see how that goes."
