Today we reveal the 88 North East primary schools which have an 'Outstanding' Ofsted report. The Office for Standards in Education inspects and rates schools across England to judge the quality of education pupils are receiving.
Our research coincides with 'National Offer Day' taking place today - when parents find out if they have got their chosen primary school for their kids.
Most parents and guardians will have their heart set on a particular school, but with competition often fierce, especially in densely populated areas, they won't always get their first choice.

We looked at the official Government website for our results covering schools in our seven local authority areas - Newcastle, Gateshead, Northumberland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland and County Durham.
Below, we have listed all the top rated schools in each local authority area. However, please note that some of them have not been fully inspected for a number of years and we have included the date on which the Outstanding report was published.
