And we're live! Welcome to our Nintendo Switch Prime Day live blog. Prime Day itself doesn't start until tomorrow, but there are already a few small deals about, and they're open to everyone.
We'll kick things off with this solid £25 saving on the latest Switch console in the UK. The Nintendo Switch OLED is reduced from £309.99 to £284.99 at Amazon.
If you want to include a game, there are bundle deals with Lego Star Wars Saga, reduced for £344.98 £319.98 and Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for £369.98 £342.98.
If you're in the US, the best deal is a Switch OLED European import for $349.99 $333.99 .
If you're just waking up in the UK then good morning from us!
I've been busy the last few hours hunting for the latest and best deals on Switch consoles and accessories in anticipation of tomorrow's big Prime Day event. I've also had four cups of tea and been playing some Disney Dreamlight Valley on my Nintendo Switch in between scouring the internet.
Speaking of accessories, how awesome is my BMO switch dock? I absolutely love it for desktop gaming and it matches my game room setup so well. If you want to grab one of these you can find them on Etsy, but for the fastest next-day delivery option then Amazon US has them for just $25.99 and Amazon UK has them in pink too for just £22.49 with a 10% voucher saving up for grabs.
As for Nintendo Switch console deals, I've been debating an upgrade to the Switch OLED model, and just found a great price on a white one from Amazon UK down to just £284.99 from £309.99 - that's a £25 saving. Sure, it might be wise to wait until tomorrow to see if Amazon reduces the price any further but be wary of stock and the fact that Amazon could quickly sell out if a deal is too good to miss.
If you're in the US, the best price we've found on a Switch OLED so far is $328 on Amazon for the White edition, even cheaper than the price we found an hour ago. This is the lowest price we've ever seen on this model which usually retails for around $349, so this might be as good as we're going to get.
Not interested in the white OLED model? You're in luck. We've just found some great deals on special edition and other coloured variants of the newest Nintendo Switch OLED model.
• There's the pretty Pokemon Scarlet/Violet edition for just £319.99 £298.50 on Amazon UK - saving you £21.49.
• The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Limited Edition OLED model has a price drop from £319.99 down to £303.64 on Amazon UK - saving you £16.35
• The Neon Red/Blue Nintendo Switch OLED is now also £309.99 £284.99 on Amazon in the UK, saving you an impressive £25, enough to put towards a new game.
Sadly, we've not seen any price cuts on any of these special editions in the US yet, but we have found a deal on a Renewed Premium model of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED model for $319.99, which is $40 cheaper than the new condition model. Amazon's Renewed service offers refurbished products for less with a one-year warranty, certified by Amazon to work and look like new and guarantee that everything including the battery is in working order.
There's nothing wrong with shopping secondhand, and it's. great way to not only save money but save the planet too. Just be cautious that with Prime Day tomorrow, the price on a brand-new console could drop below that of a Renewed Premium one.
Mario fans! We've found a pretty peachy deal for you. Wahoo!
You can get the regular Nintendo Switch with Red Joy-Cons - PLUS a digital download code for the Mario Odyssey game (usually £39.99) - PLUS a set of stickers from the latest Super Mario Bros. Movie all for a reduced price of £359.99 £297.45! Saving you an impressive £62.54 on the original price.
I actually have this red-edition switch and I love it. The only difference is of course the colour of the joy-cons but red matches my switch accessories perfectly.
Sorry US folks, there aren't many deals to report on for you just yet. But stay tuned as we keep looking for the best Nintendo Switch Amazon Prime Day deals.
The Nintendo Switch Lite currently has a not-to-be-ruled-out £25 off in the UK, with this deal at Very that brings it to £174. The lowest price we've seen it go for is only £9 less than this, so it's your call if you want to roll the dice – Switch deals are notoriously hard to come by so sometimes it's worth snapping them up when they appear.
Sticking with the UK for a moment, this is a great deal on a non-OLED Switch from Very – with three games bundled up in a lovely little gaming package. You'll get the OLED model with Animal Crossing New Horizon, Minecraft and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with a total of £25 off, bringing it from £359.99 to £334.99 at Very.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard that this year's Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has quickly become one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful Switch titles, and for good reason. Right now in the UK Amazon is offering the limited edition Zelda OLED Switch bundle (which features the game along with a Zelda-themed console) for £25 off.
While we're hoping to see more when Prime Day properly kicks off tomorrow, Switch deals are proving pretty scarce right now. So with that in mind, here's $2.02 off the Switch Lite on Amazon. You're welcome.
Things are looking a little better over in the UK. In previous years, deals on the awesome OLED Switch have been rare, but right now Amazon UK has £21 off the white version. It isn't the biggest saving, but anyone who's played on the OLED model will tell you that the screen upgrade makes all the difference.
There are some savings to be had on Nintendo Switch accessories in the UK too, including on the new pastel-colour Joy-Cons, which are reduced by £10 from £69 to £59 on Amazon. There are discounts on other colours too, with the neon green/pink the cheapest option at £54.99.
A couple of examples here of why it's so important to know what the recommended retail price is when you're searching for deals, because there's no shortage of third-party sellers on Amazon and Walmart claiming to be offering deals because they're offering discounts on marked up prices.
The official price for the standard Nintendo Switch is £299, but the listing above is claiming that to be a discount on this option with the grey Joy-Cons. The current price is now fine if you want that colour option, but just be aware that you're not getting any discount.
Even worse though, is this refurbished Switch Lite that's advertised as being a deal reduced from $208.89. Erm...but a brand new Switch Lite costs $199 as standard. A refurbished model for more than a new one? No thanks.
I'm sorry to say that the oh so generous $2.02 discount on the Nintendo Switch Lite that we flagged up a little earlier has sold out! Not to worry though, because there are actually a couple of potentially more enticing Switch Lite deals knocking about in the US.
There's a Japan import Switch Lite for $199.99 $158.94 on Amazon. Sounds like a good deal, but I'm not sure to what extent it may differ from US models, and you would need a power adapter at the very least. A safer bet would be a Nintendo Switch Lite + 128GB SanDisk Micro SDXC card for $234.98 $215.03. The discount is really on the card rather than the console, but the Switch has such limited internal storage that you're almost definitely going to want an SDXC card anyway, so it's not a bad buy.
For anyone who already has a Switch and is looking for games deals, Nintendo's offering 10% in My Nintendo Gold Points with purchases of its new Pikmin 4 game. The deal's running until the 23rd of the month.
Here's another promotion that Nintendo is running at the moment. Nintendo Switch Online members can trial the MLB® The Show™ 23 game for free a limited time and then grab a 50% saving if they like it. Game trial participants can also earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points*
We had been seeing some Nintendo Switch bundle deals going in the UK on the OLED console but stock seems to have gone. However, Very has a decent deal on the standard Nintendo Switch + Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for £309.99 £284.99 - a saving of £25 there.
It's ten minutes to midnight in the UK, which means just ten minutes until it's actually officially Prime Day, so we'll soon see if Amazon's going to have any Prime-exclusive Nintendo Switch deals.
It's officially Prime Day in the UK, and the bad news is that there are no Prime-exclusive deals on Nintendo Switch consoles. But Prime members can grab some great deals on Switch games, including LEGO Marvel Super Heroes for half price: £24.99 now just £12.99.
Other games with decent Prime Day exclusive deals at Amazon UK include LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Sage for £39.99 £27.97 and LEGO Worlds for £4.99 £19.59.
Hmm.... I'm starting to notice a theme here. Is there anything that isn't Lego-oriented?!
Here's another deal in the official Lego Nintendo Switch Prime Day Sale! Lego Harry Potter Collection for £34.99 £20.69 - that's 41% off.
OK, so UK Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals are not 100% Lego-based. There are some deals on other games too, like the first-person horror adventure Among the Sleep now £21.99 £17.99, or for some real excitement, you can try your hand at running a farm with Farm Simulator 23 for £39.99 £25.99. I'm only half joking; the graphics look a bit ropy but I suspect this game could be very addictive.
To round up, here are all the official Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals in the UK, all games and accessories bundles. There's not a massive amount to get excited about, but then it was always unlikely that we would see Prime member deals on Switch console themselves.
That means that our picks of the best Nintendo Switch console deals in the UK remain the one that we have listed above. Some of the best were at Very, but unfortunately it's website is down at the moment. It says it will be back up by 7am.
As for how things are looking in the US, the only Nintendo Switch discounts remain those sporadic overseas imports, such as the Switch OLED for $337.99 at Amazon. But we don't have long to wait now to see if we get any official Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals in the US.
We're taking a break to regroup and prepare for that, but we'll be back to report when Prime Day begins in the US in just over four hours time. Join us then.
Morning! It's Tech Reviews Editor Erlingur here, freshly caffeinated and ready for the Prime Day ahead. I've been double-checking all the console offers this morning, but unfortunately, we're not seeing any increased discounts yet from what we've previously reported.
However, I'm currently hooked on No Man's Sky (on PC in my case, but still), and I'm delighted to report that the extremely well-reviewed Switch edition of No Man's Sky is now £26.99, down from £44.99.
For the mileage you get out of this game, that price amounts to a fraction of a penny for each hour of gaming joy you'll get to savour, so a hearty early-morning recommendation is in order, methinks.
No Man's Sky: Was $44.99 now $26.99 at Amazon
If you're in the UK, then your best bet for Nintendo Switch deals is Very, which has a range of discounts across the console, games and accessories. The site was temporarily down this morning but we are pleased to report that it is very much back.
See the Nintendo Switch discounts at Very
It's time for a little price check.
Walmart looks like it's offering deals on several Nintendo Switch games, but just how good are those deals? Let's take a look.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available at Walmart for $39.99. But you can get the same game at Amazon for $29.99.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is on offer at Walmart for $51.99, and Amazon is selling it for $51.69, which is really not much of a difference, but do you see our point? Check before you buy people, or keep following this blog as we do the work for you.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Was $59.99 now $29.99 at Amazon
One of the best-received games on Nintendo Switch in recent times is Tactics Ogre: Reborn. Based on 2010's Tactics Ogre, this version sports improved graphics and sound, as well as updated game design, which has been extremely well reviewed by both critics and users. I'm a big fan of tactical games and RPGs myself, so if I were in the US, I'd be seriously considering going for this Prime Day offer myself, which sees the game at a tied-lowest-ever $29.99, down from the list price of $49.99.
Now, it's not been sold at the full price for a little while, but this Prime-exclusive deal sees a couple of bucks knocked off the latest price of $31.79, which is a bag of snacks to munch on while you get yourself immersed in this very nice-looking game.
Tactics Ogre: Reborn: Was $49.99 now $29.99 at Amazon
Another fantasy-tinged game from Square Enix that's definitely worth a go on the Switch is NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition (yes, the capping is like that on purpose). Incorporating battles, fighting and RPG elements into an epic story (one not for younger players, note), it's now at very nearly the lowest-ever price for Prime Day, down to $29.99 from $39.99. It's only 99 cents above the lowest price we've ever seen this game at, so I'd count this as a Pretty Good Deal...
NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition: Was $39.99 now $29.99 at Amazon
If you like Lego (which I do, a lot), and if you like Star Wars (which I'm lukewarm on tbh), the prospect of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is appealing indeed. Now the Switch game is not only discounted for Prime Day, but discounted WITH an Amazon-exclusive Classic Character DLC thrown in for good measure. Originally £39.99, it has now been lightsaber-slashed down to £24.99 for UK Prime members, which is the lowest price we've ever seen this game going for, and by some distance too. The previous low was £29, and with the Classic Character DLC an Amazon exclusive (tee-emm), there's no point comparing it with other sites, because this particular version isn't available anywhere else, so this gets an Official CB Switch Prime Day Live Blog Lowest Price Ever Certification from us. We're still workshopping that title, by the way...
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Classic Character Edition: Was £39.99 now £24.99 at Amazon
In previous years, Switch OLED deals were rare in the UK – but things are different this time around. Right now, Amazon UK has £31 off the white OLED model, bringing it down from £319 to £288. And as anyone who's used the OLED model will tell you, that upgraded screen makes all the difference.
Very is still the best destination for Switch deals in the UK, with a bunch of offers covering the console, games and accessories. See the Nintendo Switch discounts at Very
Nintendo Switch deals are proving frustratingly rare in the US this Prime Day, but if you're happy with a Japanese import, you can get 20% off the blue Switch Lite, down from $200 to $159. Sure, you'll probably need to change the language settings when starting it up, but otherwise there's little difference between this and a US model.
Looking for a new multiplayer Switch game? Take a look at this Prime Day discount on Just Dance 2023 with an impressive -75% discount bringing the price to just $14.99. That's a $45 saving!
Just Dance 2023 Download code only (no cartridge) $59.99 I $14.99
It's hardly a game-changing deal, but right now even a dollar off feels a big deal in the US, where Nintendo Switch deals are proving pretty rare. So, enjoy a whole $4 off the turquoise Switch Lite at Amazon, down from $199 to $195!
We can be glad that Very got it's website sorted out after a technical issue that took it offline for several hours last night because it's turning out to have the best Nintendo Switch deals in the UK. Prime Day? What Prime Day? It's Very Day for Switch fans, with the retailer beating Amazon on a range of bundles. This one's my top pick:
-
Get Nintendo Switch + Legend of Zelda TOTK: Was
£309.99now £284.99 at Very
Very even has Nintendo Switch OLED deals. It has the Switch OLED alone for £309.99 £284.99 or bundled with Zelda TOTK for £359.99 £334.99 (it's the same £25 saving in both cases.
-
Get Nintendo Switch OLED + Zelda TOTK was
£359.99now £334.99
Actually, hold up. Amazon has a random Nintendo Switch OLED going at the moment too. Strangely, it's not flagged as a discount, but it has the Switch OLED for £265.04, which is a record low price. Smells fishy, but appears to be brand new. There's onlu one left in stock though.
-
Get Nintendo Switch OLED: was
£309.99£265.04 at Amazon
If you'd like a very small discount in the US, we've found one (are we selling it well?!). You can get a Switch OLED imported from Europe and it's around $10 less than the standard price. It may not be worth it if you don't have an adapter to charge it, but if you have one already it might be more attractive...
Get Nintendo Switch OLED (EU import): Was $349.99 now $339.99 at Amazon.
Well, inevitably that one Nintendo Switch OLED going for a record low £265 at Amazon UK has been snapped up, but Amazon still has the best UK price on the Switch OLED - now £282.14.
That is if you want it in white. If you'd prefer the Switch OLED in neon red/blue, the best price is back at Very, where it's £284.99.
-
Get Nintendo Switch OLED white:
£309.99now £282.14 at Amazon -
Get Nintendo Switch OLED red/blue
£309.99now £284.99 at Very
Very's £25 off Nintendo Switch OLED deals also cover the special limited edition Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED. This version of the console has a slightly higher starting price to begin with, but it does look quite special with its Legend of Zelda green and gold colours.
-
Get Nintendo Switch OLED Zelda Limited Edition: was
£319.19£294.99 at Very
It's very much a different story in the US, where the only real Prime Day Switch OLED deal is on a bundle with a SanDisk Micro SDXC card. But that's one suspiciously expensive SDXC.
-
Nintendo Switch OLED + SanDisk 512GB Micro SDXC: was
$479.98now $400.99 at Amazon
Here's that same deal again, but this time with the blue/red Nintendo Switch OLED. And the price has just dropped a cents further. Both are now $399.87.
-
Get Nintendo Switch OLED Blue/Red + SanDisk 512GB Micro SDXC: was
$479.98now $399.87
We're taking a break from our Prime Day Nintendo Switch blog for a few hours, but we'll be back throughout the day tomorrow for the second day of the official sale.
To recap there are now official Prime Day deal on Switch consoles anywhere, although there are some Prime Day deals on games in the UK.
In the US, the only Switch discounts are on the imported consoles listed above. In the UK, the situation is much better with several small but welcome savings at Very. We'll be back here tomorrow to continue the hunt.
- Get Nintendo Switch OLED European version for $339.99 at Amazon
Good morning deal hunters! This is Creative Bloq's deputy editor here checking in. It's day two of Prime Day and the bad news is there are STILL no official Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals in the US, and just a few games on sale for Prime Day at Amazon in the UK.
There are a couple of accessories deals though. Like this Switch Controller in red and blue, which is on sale for Prime members for $20.79
Seeing as there's such a dearth of deals on the Switch, sometimes it feels like a deal just to get a Switch at retail price. The only real savings are to be had by getting imported versions, like this Japanese version of the Switch Lite in blue, which costs $158.75. It might take a little longer to get to you, though.
It's 10.30 on this Wednesday morning in the UK, and that means just one thing: DANCE PARTY. Or, at least a quick update about a dance party video game.
Just Dance 2023 Edition is now at what I have confirmed to be the lowest-ever price we've ever tracked it at, and not only on Amazon, where it's down to £19.97 from £34.99. Turns out Curry's is matching the offer, step for step, hip thrust for hip thrust, spin for sp- you know what I'm getting at here. If you prefer shopping with Curry's, it's also £19.97 on there, you'll be thrilled to know. May we suggest a dance-off between the two to decide where to get it from?
Just Dance 2023 Edition: was £34.99 now £19.97 at Amazon AND at Curry's
Fortnite is one of the most popular video games in the world right now, across pretty much any gaming platform you can think of. This includes Switch, obviously, but while the game itself is free to play in Battle Royale mode, there are now countless DLCs that you can buy to customise your experience. One of those that's on a special Prime Day is a DLC code for the Anime Legends pack, now £8.99, down from £15.99 at Amazon. This pack includes [deep intake of breath] Golden Gear Midas Outfit, Golden Crash Back Bling, 24 Karat Katana Pickaxe, Ricochet Rox Outfit, Whirlberry Back Bling, Blazeberry Blade Pickaxe, Ready Penny Outfit, Little Black Bag Back Bling, Glimmering Edge Pickaxe, and Lil' Kart Emote, and as this pack has never been discounted before to our knowledge, this is a RECORD LOW ALERT.
Fortnite Anime Legends DLC: was £15.99 now £8.99 at Amazon [lowest-ever price]
US gamers, we may not have discovered any price cuts on the standard model Nintendo Switch console this Prime Day, BUT we have found an interesting loophole to save some money with Amazon towards a new game or accessory after you purchase a Nintendo Switch Neon Red/Blue model.
The listed price of $299.99 is the usual retail price of this console - so there's no Prime Day savings applied here. However, if you look underneath where it says "Free Returns" you'll see it has an option for extra savings in the form of a $25 digital credit on Amazon when applying the code NSO25 at checkout.
Don't worry, we've read the small print for you and this deal seems to be very legit. All you need to know is that the digital discount is applied to your Amazon customer account, it's non-transferable, limited to US customers only, and the promotional credit will expire on August 27th, 2023.
Get this deal: $25 digital credit with the purchase of a Nintendo Switch Neon Red/Blue console
Looking for some Switch accessories? We've found some pretty cool alternative docking stations for when you want to bring one to a friend's house or for travelling with to connect your switch console to the TV with ease.
First up is a Mario themed docking station from HEIYING that securely holds your switch in place with an ergonomic and anti-slip design, and allows for charging only through the included USB Type-C cable, though you could still easily use this as a dock through an HDMI to USB-C adapter.
Next, we have the Antank TV Docking Station designed to be much more lightweight and portable than the traditional Nintendo Switch dock. It allows you to connect your switch to the TV with ease, and is also a modern charging stand that's great for hands-free gaming.
Lastly, we have the Poke-ball themed switch dock also from Antank that's fun themed and super tiny. There are two variations of the Pokeball dock, one is for charging only and the other is for charging and TV connection, so make sure you get exactly which one you need.
Friendly reminder: We're in the final stretch of Prime Day 2023 in the UK which will be ending sooner than you think, in less than 7 hours! So checkout any items you have sitting idle in your basket before it sells out, or before the products return to normal prices at midnight. You'll be kicking yourself that you didn't.
US folk – don't panic; you have a bit more time!
Let the UK countdown begin!
If you work from home and are looking for at-home ways to get in shape, then this deal on Ring Fit Adventure might just be exactly what you need. This game for the Nintendo Switch comes with the game cartridge itself, plus a ring-con which the joy-cons slot into, and a leg strap for attaching a Nintendo Joy-con controller to your leg to track your movements as you progress the workouts and fun activities.
Get this UK deal: Ring Fit Adventure £69.99 £51.99
Special edition Nintendo Switch consoles have benefited from some amazing discounts this Prime Day, and one of my favourites is this Switch OLED Pokémon Scarlet and Violet edition console for just £319.99 £298 on Amazon UK - saving you £22. The retail price of this console is usually pretty stubborn, so it's worth snapping up this price drop while it's active.
Get this deal: Nintendo Switch OLED Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Limited Edition for £298 on Amazon UK.
Continuing on with the Pokemon edition theme, over in the US you can get this limited edition Dialga & Palkia Switch Lite console at a reduced price of $259.93 down from $299.99. That's a $40 saving! This is one of the prettiest Switch Lite editions I've ever seen, and perfect for any Pokemon Diamond fans out there.
Get this deal: Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition $299.99 $259.93
Arguably the best Nintendo Switch game ever? The game that brings people together (or causes arguments – depending on your levels of competitiveness) has had a price cut down to just £37.95 from the stubborn retail price of £49.99. Get ready to dodge shells and throw bananas with this peachy Prime Day discount.
Get this deal: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe standard edition £37.95
Save a total of $21.75 on this Splatoon 2 Switch Controller on Amazon US reduced from $110 down to $88.25 on Amazon US. It's always a good idea to have an extra controller, and there's none better than the official Nintendo pro controllers. If you like Splatoon 2, then it's even more of a bargain.
Get this deal: Splatoon 2 Nintendo Switch pro Controller $110 $88.25
Prime Day is now over in the UK, but the good news is that all of the Nintendo Switch deals listed above are still live, including £25 off the standard Switch and Switch OLED at Very - hurrah! We're not holding out hope for any changes in the US so we can consider the list of deals above to be definitive. We'll take a break and come back tomorrow to provide an update on which Nintendo Switch deals are still live.
Goodnight and happy Switching!
Get Nintendo Switch: was £259 now £234 at Very
