With West Ham having just two matches left in all competitions this season, eyes will soon turn towards who they will be buying and selling in this summer’s transfer window.
West Ham spent big last summer in preparation for this season, splashing out around £160million on eight players, including the triple swoop of midfielder Lucas Paqueta, striker Gianluca Scamacca and centre-back Nayef Aguerd, whose initial fees cost just shy of £100million between the trio.
Despite that spend, West Ham could dip back into the transfer market for another big spend this summer, with captain Declan Rice heavily linked with a transfer exit to Arsenal in what could be a fee that topples that current British transfer record of £106.8million which Chelsea paid for midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January of this year.

Ahead of the window, West Ham have been linked with interest in making moves for nine different players this summer, based on odds from SkyBet ahead of the window opening.
Of the nine, they are favourites for just one of those, with the bookies’ claiming that West Ham are leading the race to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea this summer, with the east London outfit priced at 6/1. While the Hammers may get that deal over the line, they remain at long odds to do so and have shorter odds to sign one other player.
Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse is likely to leave Saints this summer after their relegation to the Championship. West Ham are second favourites to sign free-kick specialist Ward-Prowse at 4/1, with Newcastle priced as favourites at 6/4.
Similarly to Ward-Prowse, West Ham are second favourites to sign Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire and Maguire’s teammate in midfield Scott McTominay, priced at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively. David Moyes’ side are also joint-second favourites to sign England international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, priced at 7/1 alongside Chelsea. Tottenham Hotspur are the 11/4 favourites.
One club in danger of joining Southampton in being relegated this summer is Leicester City. Their winger and this season’s Foxes top scorer Harvey Barnes is 7/1 to join West Ham, who are third favourites behind Aston Villa (7/2) and Newcastle (4/1).
At further prices, West Ham have also been linked with interest in signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher (10/1), Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha (25/1), and Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney (33/1).
SkyBet’s odds on West Ham to sign the following players before September 3, 2023 (correct as of 4:30pm on May 23)
Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea, winger) - 6/1 (favourite)
Conor Gallagher (Chelsea, midfielder) - 10/1 (sixth favourite)
Harry Maguire (Manchester United, centre-back) - 6/1 (second favourite)
Harvey Barnes (Leicester City, winger) - 7/1 (third favourite)
James Ward-Prowse (Southampton, midfielder) - 4/1 (second favourite)
Jordan Pickford (Everton, goalkeeper) - 7/1 (joint-second favourite)
Kieran Tierney (Arsenal, left-back) - 33/1 (joint-fourth favourite)
Scott McTominay (Manchester United, midfielder) - 8/1 (second favourite)
Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace, winger) - 25/1 (joint-11th favourite)
