The Night Agent became one of Netflix’s biggest shows to date after gracing our screens on March 23, 2023.
The series, which follows the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk, impressed viewers with its starstudded cast and thrilling storyline.
The plot follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who is thrown into a vast conspiracy about a mole intercepting the highest levels of the United States government.
Given Netflix’s recent habit of cancelling new shows, fans were worried they would never get to find out where The Night Agent story leads. Thankfully, this isn’t the case, and the show has been officially renewed for another season.
Here is a look at all the information available about the second season, including when it’s due to come out and who is expected to be in it.

When is The Night Agent back on Netflix?
Given the show’s undeniable success, Netflix was quick to renew the show for a second season. The company made it official just six days after the launch.
While the company hasn’t released any concrete announcements about the second season just yet, it is estimated to be another 10-episode season and be released sometime in 2024.
Who will be in The Night Agent’s second season?
The first season saw Gabriel Basso portray Peter Sutherland, with Luciane Buchanan playing Rose Larkin, Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea Arrington, and Phoenix Rael taking on the part of Dale.
Similarly, Enrique Murciano graced our screens as Ben Almora, David Woodside was Erik Monks, Hong Chau played Diane Farr, and Andre Anthony was given the role of Matteo/Colin.
It is unclear which of these cast members will be included in the second season, but Basso will no doubt be back as the lead.
What will the second season be about?
Talking to Deadline, showrunner Shawn Ryan revealed that he pitched The Night Agent to Netflix as a show that featured a self-enclosed series.
He explained: “What I will tell you is that the initial pitch for this show that we sold to Netflix was that each season would tell its own, mostly self-enclosed, a beginning, middle and end story, and any future seasons would include a few but not most of the characters that we saw in the previous season.
“That was the original plan; I think it’s still a pretty solid plan. To me, it was important. I don’t want to tell this specific story over five seasons, I want to tell this specific story in one season and give some satisfaction to the audience that they see how things turn out.”
Based on that, the second installment of the show is likely to be a self-contained one, telling and completing a specific story.
