Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is ready to unleash Chris Wood against his old club Leeds United as he looks to sign off from 2022 in winning manner.
Wood has netted three times this season despite having to battle for his place. And Howe has talked up his attitude ahead of the clash against Leeds.
Howe did not hesitate to pay the £25million fee that released Wood from his Burnley contract back in January.

He said: "He’s never let us down since the day he arrived at the football club. He’s a brilliant professional away from the pitch, very hardworking, and trains really well.
"Whenever we’ve called upon him, he’s always produced in terms of our tactical and pressing plans to the highest level. I thought he was very good tactically and scored a huge penalty for us. He’s been very good from those situations. Full credit to Chris.”
Howe will check on Callum Wilson in the build-up to the visit of Leeds after the striker pulled out of the 3-0 win at Leicester City due to illness. Leeds were beaten last night by Manchester City at Elland Road and have just 48 hours to prepare for the game at St James' Park.
