The Newcastle United line-ups Eddie Howe should consider ahead of Norwich City clash\acv

Newcastle United are heading back on the road and will be hoping for a fourth straight win when they take on bottom of the table Norwich City. Dean Smith's side are running out of matches to overturn their eight-point deficit to safety.

In contrast, the narrow home victory over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night has lifted the Magpies to the famous 40-point mark. Survival is not mathematically guaranteed, but attention for Eddie Howe's side will now turn to pushing for an unlikely top-ten finish.

The Toon boss has hinted at rotation for the Saturday afternoon encounter at Carrow Road. Here is how our ChronicleLive team feels Newcastle could lineup for their upcoming clash at Norwich City.

Eddie Howe may appear reluctant to change a winning team and I'm inclined to agree. Emil Krafth has been one of Newcastle's better players in recent weeks and although Javier Manquillo may provide more of an attacking intent, the Swedish full-back has not put a foot wrong of late.

Bruno Guimaraes is the first name on the Magpies' team sheet given his rich vein of form and although Howe may be tempted to rest the Brazilian ahead of games against Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal, Newcastle know they could finish the weekend in the top-half.

Joe Willock to replace one of the midfield three is the only deliberation ahead of this week, it all depends on whether Howe wants to keep the team fresh or stick with a winning side. The rest of the team picks itself.

Matty's XI: Dubravka; Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett; Guimaraes, Shelvey, Joelinton, Almiron, Wood, Saint-Maximin

Ciaran Kelly

A big physical effort was required against both Leicester City and Crystal Palace so I would be amazed if Eddie Howe is even able to name an unchanged side once again. However, Newcastle's schedule is not quite so gruelling after the trip to Norfolk - the Magpies will be back to playing just one game a week - so I would be reluctant to make too many changes.

Also, given the opposition that lies in wait in the weeks to come, it is important to keep the momentum going and this is a good opportunity for Newcastle to win their first away game in four while also ending their Carrow Road hoodoo. Therefore, I would just make two changes to give Fabian Schar and Joelinton a breather as Jamaal Lascelles and Joe Willock come in. Depending on how the game goes, Howe could then potentially have the chance to protect players such as Bruno Guimaraes, Jonjo Shelvey and Allan Saint-Maximin with his substitutions in the second half.

Ciaran's XI: Dubravka, Krafth, Lascelles, Burn; Bruno, Shelvey, Willock; Almiron, Wood, Saint-Maximin

In an ideal world, Howe would be loathe to change a settled lineup which has delivered three straight wins. However, the Magpies' display in the recent Goodison Park defeat following a run of three away matches in eight days proves the head coach will need to rotate.

Emil Krafth has been superb in recent outings, but I would give the Sweden international a breather and Javier Manquillo a chance to redeem himself following his performance at Tottenham. Howe has suggested he still wants to assess Matt Targett before making a decision on a summer transfer, and Jamaal Lascelles has been patient since coming out of the side due to illness in February.

The midfield will likely need freshening up, with Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock coming in alongside the in-form Bruno Guimaraes. Miguel Almiron keeps his place as part of an extended audition to impress Howe, and Allan Saint-Maximin and Chris Wood continue in attack.

Chris' XI: Dubravka; Manquillo, Lascelles, Burn, Targett; Guimaraes, Longstaff, Willock; Almiron, Wood, Saint-Maximin

Andrew Musgrove

With Newcastle United playing their third game in under a week, I can foresee several changes to the XI. There is no doubting that every player will want to continue playing but tired legs will play a part, and Eddie Howe has already hinted at that.

Newcastle are fortunate that they've got decent replacements waiting to come in - and with something to fight for. I could very well see Javier Manquillo coming in for Emil Krafth, Joe Willock coming in for Joelinton, and Sean Longstaff coming in for Jonjo Shelvey.

But I do reckon Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maxmin win remain on the wings. It's very much a case of resting players rather than dropping them!

Andrew's XI: Dubravka; Manquillo, Schar, Burn, Targett; Willock, Guimaraes, Longstaff; Almiron, Saint-Maximin, Wood

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe hinted at changes for Norwich. Despite good form perhaps it is his frontline that needs a refresh. Dwight Gayle is also in need of a start.

So perhaps Carrow Road could be the stage to give him his chance? For all that, I'd still have Wood back in the fold against Liverpool to test the Reds' big defenders.

Lee's XI: Dubravka; Krafth, Burn, Schar, Targett; Joelinton, Shelvey, Bruno; Saint-Maximin, Almiron, Gayle
