The new films and shows out on Netflix this weekend – January 13

Two weeks down, and the weekend is here once again. With it comes a host of exciting new films and shows dropping on streaming services.

So if you need something to help cure those January blues, we have compiled the best new content dropping on Netflix to keep you entertained this week. Whether you fancy rejoining the Vikings for another action-packed Scandanavian adventure, or tagging along with Rob Lowe as he searches for a lost pupper, there is plenty to choose from in January.

Vikings: Valhalla – Season two

Set more than one thousand years ago in the early 11th century, this action-drama series chronicles the heroic adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived — the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his fiery sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and the ambitious Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter). Season two finds the heroes shortly after the tragic fall of Kattegat, an event that has shattered their dreams and altered their destinies.

Finding themselves fugitives in Scandinavia, they are forced to test their ambitions and courage in worlds beyond the fjords of Kattegat.

Break Point

From the team behind F1: Drive to Survive, this new docuseries follows a group of top tennis players on and off the court as they compete in gruelling Grand Slams and tournaments all over the world. They dream of lifting a trophy and becoming number one.

As some of the sport’s legends reach the twilight of their careers, this is the chance for a new generation to claim the spotlight. Break Point gets up close and personal with these players over a year competing across the globe in the ATP and WTA tours.

From career-threatening injuries and emotional heartbreak, to triumphant victories and personal moments off the court, viewers will get a behind the scenes look at the pressure-tested lives of some of the best tennis players in the world. Featuring apperances Maria Sharapova, John McEnroe and Andy Roddick.

Dog Gone

After a young man and his beloved dog are separated on the Eastern United States’ Appalachian Trail, he and his father must begin a desperate search to find him before it’s too late. Based on Pauls Toutonghi’s incredible true story of humanity and heroism starring Rob Lowe and Johnny Berchtold as the father and son whose quest helps repair their fractured relationship.

Sky Rojo – Season three

The final season of this Spanish black comedy action-drama takes place six months after the final battle in season two. Coral (Verónica Sánchez), Wendy (Lali Espósito) and Gina (Yany Prado) discover that peace is nothing more than a deceptive feeling between periods of terror.

When their new life is blown to pieces, the girls understand that the past always returns and that if they ever really want to be free, they’ll have to bury it – or bury Romeo (Asier Etxeandia).
