A popular Cardiff brunch spot and street food hangout has announced the launch of a new event to celebrate man's - or woman's - best friend: pooches. Twenty Six, which opened earlier this year, is putting on Canton's very own take on Crufts - an international dog show which celebrates all things dogs - with treats for both humans and canines alike.
Taking place on Saturday, May 20 at The Boneyard Studios in Canton, Canton Crufts 2023 will open from midday to 5pm for the market with TwentySix opening its cafe and bar from 10am.
Dog owners and fans of the animals who wish to attend can enjoy a whole host of activities for both furry friends and their two-legged companions from market stalls to street food to dog biscuits, puppucinos, agility courses and pet portraits.

The event will be raising money for rescue centre The Rescue Hotel and taking to Instagram to reveal the exciting event, Twenty Six posted a poster of Canton Crufts and wrote a caption which read: "Hold the Date. We are partnering with @flowerhorndogbakery and @flowerhornbrewery to put on CANTON CRUFTS.
"We know how much you all love your fur babies so we thought we would put on an event dedicated to them! We’ve got an awesome line up for you.. let this whet your appetite!
"@thecostasisters will be doing their awesome PAW-traits @heel.and.hounds who sell customised clothing for dog lovers @millydogfashion will be bringing THE BOUJEE-ist fashion for your pup you’ve ever seen!"
"We’ve got food traders, a fun agility course on the day and even some prizes for the best dressed dog on the day plus much more!"
And locals are jumping for joy at such a day coming to the city suburb. Commenting on the post, Instagram user @heels.and.hounds wrote: "We can’t wait!" while @millydogfashion, who is hosting a stall at the event, added: "Whoop whoop! Supaw excited!"
This new event comes after a stellar first month for TwentySix - which is the permanent location for brunch pop up TOAST- having opened at the beginning of March. Since, then they have hosted street food vendors such as Bao Selecta and El Cabron Tacos with Queen Pepida, Kapow Ribs and Char to come.
Canton Crufts will take place at The Boneyard Studios on Saturday, May 20.
