THOUSANDS of people were heard chanting “f*** the King” during a rock band’s set at Glastonbury.
On Friday, the lead singer of British band Idles, Joe Talbot, used their performance as an opportunity to raise awareness of various issues in British politics.
A inflatable dinghy filled with props of child migrants was seen crowd surfing through the audience during the pro-immigration song Danny Nedelko while the band dedicated another song to the “people of Palestine”.
However, the moment most likely to enrage supporters of the monarchy came when Talbot encouraged the audience to help viewers at home learn “the new British national anthem”.

“If you’d like to turn the cameras around and face the people of Glastonbury, please,” said Talbot.
He then shouted “F*** the King” which was instantly echoed back by thousands of people in the audience.
He then launched into the song I’m Scum while the audience continued to chant.
The lyrics of the song read: “I don’t care about the next James Bond.
“He kills for country, king and god.
“We don’t need another murderous toff.
“I’m just wondering where the High Street’s gone.
“Cause I’m scum.”
