Blake Lively has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her "It Ends With Us" co-star and director Justin Baldoni, alleging inappropriate behavior, a retaliatory smear campaign and attempts to damage her career and reputation.
The alleged incidents took place on the set of the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel, "It Ends With Us," where Lively and Baldoni played the lead roles.
The lawsuit claims Baldoni exhibited inappropriate behavior, including sexual comments and physical actions, as well as discussions about private matters that made Lively uncomfortable, USA Today reported.
After a January 2024 meeting to address the concerns, Baldoni reportedly agreed to changes, but tensions escalated when Lively raised further issues. This led to what Lively describes as an orchestrated smear campaign against her.
Lively's lawsuit, filed with the California Civil Rights Department, details allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation by Baldoni and his crisis PR team, including planting negative stories about her in the media and using online platforms to tarnish her reputation.
The claims also involve a significant financial threat, with Baldoni's financier allegedly stating plans to spend $100 million to ruin Lively's life.
Hours after the lawsuit became public on December 20, 2024, Baldoni was dropped by his talent agency, further intensifying the fallout from the case.
Baldoni's legal team has refuted all accusations in the lawsuit, calling them "false and salacious."
Meanwhile, Lively has stated her hope that the legal action will expose harmful tactics and provide a safeguard for others who may face similar situations.
