The moment Josh Adams broke down on Lions tour as Liam Williams also reveals he cried after crucial third Test error

The three-part Lions documentary has revealed the emotional strain missing the birth of his daughter had on Wales wing Josh Adams.

In the third and final episode of Two Sides, Adams can be seen breaking down in tears when talking about his partner Georgia and newly-born daughter Lottie in the week building up to the crucial third Test. The first instalment of the documentary series, which has been broadcast on ITV over three nights, had chronicled Adams pulling out of the South Africa A clash to witness the birth over video call.

The emotional moment comes just after the conclusion of the second Test, which South Africa won 27-9 to level the series. The Cardiff winger is filmed in his room receiving a present from back home - a framed photo of Georgia and Lottie.

Speaking in an interview segment filmed afterwards, he explains there had still been tinges of regret about touring - even after being convinced by friends and family that he could not pass up the opportunity of being a part of Warren Gatland's side.

"I certainly miss home and maybe regret a little bit not staying home," he says. "There were some days when that would creep in."

The action then cuts back to Adams' hotel room, where the winger is looking at his gift. "You tend to think if she's OK and if Georgia is OK," he explains.

"She went through pregnancy and it's traumatic, pregnancy. They're good and that's all that really matters, isn't it."

At this point, he begins to break down, wiping tears from his eyes. Thankfully, the documentary then charts a happier moment for Adams.

Having been overlooked for the first two Tests, he was finally picked for the deciding third Test. "With my daughter being born and everything, I think it was a really nice way for me to finish it off and make sure I was doing her proud," he says.

"Even though she had absolutely no clue, I knew. So it was the most important thing that it was for her in that last game."

Later on the episode, Wales full-back Liam Williams admitted he cried on his return home after failing to give a potential try-scoring pass to Adams in the third Test. The missed chance came at a moment of intense pressure from the Lions, with the Springboks rallying in the second half after the tourists failed to turn pressure into points.

Many pointed to Williams' failure to give a pass to Adams as a turning point. In the documentary, Williams reveals just how hard he took things.

"I haven't spoken to anyone about it," he said. "I cried when I got home. It's just the way it is. It's quite tough."
