The Mets’ Jesse Winker incredibly waited in the batter’s box to admire entire flight of his upper-deck HR

When the calendar turns over to October, baseball is just different. Every pitch has more meaning. Any swing can change a series. So, we can’t blame Mets outfielder Jesse Winker for enjoying every second of his Game 3 home run against the Phillies.

The Mets hosted their first playoff game in two years on Tuesday, and Winker was absolutely locked in. He was robbed of extra bases in his first at-bat. And had Aaron Nola’s fastball timed up to perfection when he turned on the 93 mph four-seamer, sending it into the second-deck seats.

We’ve seen some epic bat flips and home run celebrations over the years, but Winker’s reaction to the home run has to be right up there with the best of them.

Check out how long he stayed in the batter’s box to watch that ball.

Can you blame him though? A hit like that is something Winker understandably wanted to take in.
