A top children’s entertainment duo are heading back to their Ayrshire roots with a spectacular new seasonal stage show this Christmas.
The McDougalls are heading to Irvine and Troon this month with ‘Magic Castle'- a jam packed show full of singalong songs, fun dance routines and plenty of laughs.
Packed with catchy songs such as If You’re Happy and You Know It, Incy Wincy Spider and Jingle Bells, this is the perfect festive treat for your little ones this Christmas, filled with audience participation and musical mayhem.
Join Max and Auntie Aggie, played by award-winning duo Ruairidh Forde and Ryan Moir, on a holiday to the Magic Castle - a spellbinding school for trainee wizards.
Max and Auntie Aggie will perfect potions, battle with broomsticks and solve spells... but what lurks deep in the dungeon?
Youngsters - and grown ups - are encouraged to get into the festive spirit and come dressed as a wizard, dragon or fairy.
From a one-off show created for Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre back in 2014, the concept of the McDougalls has evolved into a nationwide touring operation and sees characters Max and Auntie Aggie blend education and entertainment to capture the imaginations of thousands of children.
Auntie Aggie, played by Ruairidh Forde, said it is “always a delight to return” to Irvine’s HAC adding: “This is the venue where it all began for us.
“Over the past few years, thousands of children have attended our shows there, and we can’t wait to return next week to bring Christmas cheer to local schools, groups and Ayrshire families.
“We are so excited to come back to Troon Concert Hall. We last came here with our Toyland show and we had so much fun.
“Now everyone can join in and have a great time at the Magic Castle!
“What better way to kick off your festive celebrations than a trip to see the McDougalls? If you’ve never been to see The McDougalls before, the whole family will love it!”
Catch The McDougalls: Magic Castle at Irvine’s HAC from Monday, December 5 to Saturday, December 10, with shows at 11am or 1pm. Tickets can be booked here.
