For weeks last year, I had a secret on my desk — an early version of the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro. I’ve watched this device evolve from its early Kickstarter days into a ready-to-launch accessory that finally brings a premium haptic experience to the PC. Now, at CES 2026, the 'Magic Trackpad for Windows' has an official price.
During its Kickstarter campaign, the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro was available for $109 for early backers. It was expected to cost $149.99 when it launched, but Hyper has dropped the price a bit. At $129, the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro aligns with the Magic Trackpad it's frequently compared to.
The HyperSpace Trackpad Pro is a standalone trackpad. Its wedged design will look familiar to those who have used Apple's Magic Trackpad.
The accessory supports multi-level haptics, meaning you can press down with different amounts of firmness to perform different actions. In terms of user experience, I'd call them "levels" of haptics, but you aren't actually moving the trackpad down.
Since it is a haptic trackpad, the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro vibrates to simulate the feel of a button or switch. Being a haptic trackpad also eliminates dead zones and some common pitfalls of trackpads with moving parts.
Our team has covered the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro for over a year. We chatted with the Hyper team at CES 2025 and I got to spend weeks with early versions of the accessory. I also spoke with Hyper's engineers and team several times throughout my review process.
That gave me a unique perspective of the HyperSpace Trackpad Pro. While many, including myself, first saw the device as a Magic Trackpad for Windows, there's more to the accessory than that.
A powerful piece of customization software called Hydra Connect lets you create per-app commands and shortcuts. For example, you can set the same gesture to scrub a timeline in Adobe Premiere Pro but scroll a webpage in Microsoft Edge.
Hyper is at CES 2026 and also announced the HyperDrive USB4 M.2 PCIe enclosure at the event. That accessory can house SSDs and PCIe modules for transferring data. The company unveiled power banks and a set of Qi2 chargers as well.
