Saddle up, lads. Taylor Sheridan never misses a day of work in his life, and that means we have more of his TV shows than we know what to do with. Landman season 2 might have finished, but new spinoff The Madison is only a few weeks away.
However, we're not exactly back in the thick of the Yellowstone-verse. The Madison director Christina Alexandra Voros worked across the original series, telling Variety back in November 2024, "It's such a different story. The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished.
"There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being's place in that space, but it's coming at it from a completely different point of view."
Intrigue! We now know that the two shows don't tie together, but that doesn't mean we're completely in the dark. For the full debrief before The Madison hits Paramount+, read on.
The Madison release date
The Madison is only a few weeks away at the time of writing, set to premiere on March 14.
We know that season 1 will be comprised of six episodes, but we currently don't know how many will drop on debut day, or when the others will be released. If you ask me, my money is on a one-episode premiere, with weekly drops thereafter.
Remember, season 2 of The Madison has already been greenlit, so we won't be left without for too long.
The Madison trailer: is there one?
Sadly, no. The above date announcement video and first-look images are all we've got so far, but I'd expect a full trailer to drop at some point in February.
In other words, keep your eyes peeled.
The Madison cast

As you might expect, the cast of The Madison is absolutely star-studded. Our main players are the Clayburn family, with other regular roles listed fitting into their lives.
- Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn
- Kurt Russell as Preston Clyburn
- Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh
- Elle Chapman as Paige McIntosh
- Beau Garrett as Abigail Reese
- Amiah Miller as Brigitte Reese
- Alaina Pollack as Macy Reese
- Matthew Fox as Paul
- Kevin Zegers as Cade
- Danielle Vasinova as Kestrel
- Ben Schnetzer as Van
- Rebecca Spence as Liliana
- Will Arnett as Stacy's therapist
If the date announcement teaser video is anything to go by, Stacy Clyburn appears to be living in Montana with her family in search of a fresh start after suffering an unknown tragedy in New York City. How important everyone else is remains to be seen, but we do know a little bit about them.
- Stacy Clyburn, a formidable NYC matriarch and mother of Paige and Abigail
- Preston Clyburn, Stacy's husband and patriarch of the family
- Russell McIntosh, an investment banker and husband of Paige who has followed the life path set out for him from the start
- Paige McIntosh, the somewhat self-centered New Yorker wife of Russell, an investment banker
- Abigail Reese, a sardonic New Yorker and divorced mother of two
- Brigitte Reese, Abigail's oldest daughter
- Macy Reese, Abigail's youngest daughter
- Paul, a self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors
- Cade, Stacy's new neighbor charged with looking after her new house
- Kestrel, an indigenous woman married to a Montana rancher
- Van, a salt-of-the-earth and neighborly Montana rancher
- Liliana, Stacy's friend and fellow member of the NYC elite
I'd expect even more new characters to be announced for the show's second season.
The Madison plot
Here's the official logline for The Madison: "a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana."
You might remember that the show was originally called Yellowstone 2024, with Matthew McConaughey rumored to be in the starring role. The project then changed names to simply Madison, with ties to McConaughey seemingly halted.
At this stage, the working synopsis indicated that the show would follow "wealthy matriarch Stacy Clayburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law's tragic deaths in a plane crash."
It's unclear exactly how much of this previous synopsis might be true. No casting for McConaughey was ever confirmed.
Is The Madison actually connected to Yellowstone?

You might have seen it widely reported that The Madison is a Yellowstone spinoff, but TechRadar can confirm that the two shows definitely aren't linked.
We've asked Paramount for an official comment, so watch this space.
